Gwynnie Bee or Not to Be?

Not too long ago, I posted an article about taking a break from shopping for a couple of months. That didn’t happen. I have, however, been more careful with my spending which was the goal in the first place, so…yay! I mentioned in that article trying out Gwynnie Bee. The best thing to compare them to is the snail mail version of Netflix, but instead of sending you DVDs, you get articles of clothing (ranging from sizes 10 – 32) from items you put in your virtual closet. You can wear what they send you until you’re bored with it and send it back, or if you love what you get, you can buy it at an extremely reduced price. The number of garments you have out at a time depends on which subscription plan you have, and right now they’re offering a free 30-day trial. I’m in the middle of my 2 garments at a time trial, to which they added and extra week because of reorganizing going on at their distribution center.

These were the first two dresses they sent me:

They didn’t work out. They looked cute on the site, but there were definite quality issues with both dresses. On the first one, the lining flipped out at the neck, and the shawl collar and drawstring belt on the second one looked sloppy. The material on both were not so great either, so they both went back. I was wondering if I should continue with the trial. The first two dresses were the same brand; however, I had experience with some of the other brands that GB offers, like Kiyonna, and knew that they are high-quality. I proceeded by removing all of the Spruce & Sage dresses from my closet, and I’ve had much better luck since!

IMG_2579I’ve actually bought three of the dresses they sent me, all by Lucie Lu, and the prices were great–especially since I’m still in the trial period. I will continue with the paid membership. I’m glad that if something doesn’t work, I can send it back, or if I love it, it can be mine!

I’ve had similar issues with a few pieces from Gwynn ie Bee. In regards to sizing I love how the have provided fitting suggestions on most of their new pieces.
