Print mixing–I’ve seen many of my blogger friends do it before, and I tried it out in this previous post. While I’m not anti-matching, I feel having the option to mix it up can give you more versatility if you have a limited, or even not-so-limited, wardrobe. It’s long been my home decorating philosophy if nothing matches then it all goes together. Remember the chairs around Monica’s dinner table on Friends? If a “friend” went all WWF and smashed one of them, she may have lost a cute chair, but she didn’t have to worry that it broke up the set. Monica could just go to a thrift store and pick up a new one in whichever style she wanted. It’s so much fun to bring this idea to fashion. I really like how the polka dots on the chambray skirt are structured and traditional, but the spots on my blouse are just not having any of that. Speaking of the skirt, I feel it will become like a favorite pair of jeans, and I’ll wear it often. The shoes and purse don’t match either; in fact, the only things that match are my necklace and earrings.
Dots, stripes, floral, or novelty: which prints do you like to mix? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by, and don’t be afraid to mix it up!
