DSC_0637_2_Fotordancydanceredux It’s Friday, and my happy feet have returned!  It’s gotta be the shoes. As much as I love clothes, I have never been a “shoe horse.” The reason–these big ‘ol 11WW feet are tough to fit. When your feet are wide, not to mention extra wide, a good pair of shoes is hard to find and a cute pair of shoes even harder. Luckily, through trial and error, I have found a few places offering fashionable footwear in W, WW (EE), EEE, and EEEEE widths, and what better way to get your feet wet than with checking out the best flats for fall!

JESSICA LONDON

First, the shoes I’m wearing. Very Dorothy, don’t ya think? Jessica London has been my absolute favorite place to find shoes. Since I began blogging, I’ve been envious of other retro-inspired ladies wearing B.A.I.T. footwear knowing their shoes would never fit my feet in a million years. Many of the styles I’ve bought from Jessica London have come pretty close to looking like B.A.I.T.s, and are very complimentary to my ’50s and ’60s-inspired dresses. Is retro not your thing? They have an excellent variety of styles, a vast majority in up to a WW width. I’ve always been quite pleased with their Comfortview brand. Here are some more of my favorite flats and wedges from Jessica London:

ZAPPOS

Zappos was always my go to for utilitarian shoes. When I needed a plain-Jane black flat, I went to Zappos. Now, I’m glad to say, they’ve been stocking a variety of fashionably unique shoes while still being the place to go for basics. Also, their customer service is amazing, and I’m always impressed with how quickly their products land on my doorstep. Sometimes I think they ship them before I place my order! Here are the best extra-wide flats from Zappos:

7 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12

SIMPLY BE This British company is new on my radar, and they offer they best variety of widths out of the bunch in E, EEE, and some in EEEEE. I know we’re talking flats here, but also check out their wide-calf boots. While some retailers just say their boots are wide-calf and leave it at that, Simply Be offers many in different calf circumferences and are specific with the measurements of each. Anyway, back to flats and a few tips for shopping Simple Be’s shoe department. While they don’t carry a size 12, I usually order a 11EEE and it runs a bit big for me. It hasn’t been overly big enough for me to size down, but if you are a 12, give an 11 a shot as it might work for you. If you’re shopping online, they list each shoe at each width as a separate item, so if you see a shoe you like and it’s not the correct width, either keep looking or search by the name of the shoe. Here are some fabulous flats from Simply Be, linking to the EEE width:

13 / 14 / 15 / 16 / 17 / 18

There you have it! I’m happy to see the variety and choices for what’s available this season, and I hope this post helped you out if you have problems finding the correct fit like I did. Now, I’m ready to strut my stuff in my fancy flats! DSC_0643_Fotorfulleditredux What are your favorite places to shop for wide and extra wide width shoes? When the lovely people at Modcloth gave me a gift card for their Spring-Time to Shine contest, I knew exactly which dress from my wishlist I wanted to buy with it! I’m new to the glasses club, only having worn them for a couple of years now, and I feel like the Clear as Day Off dress is the perfect way to make a spectacle of myself (haha). I kept this outfit simple, only adding a Lane Bryant belt and some black flats from Zappos. I feel like I’m channeling my inner Enid from Ghost World.

Now is a good time to mention two of my new Pinterest boards! On my Oh, So Close! board, I pin similar items to the ones I wear on the blog that are no longer available. Also, I have my Great Gals Dress Alike board where I search the web for fashionistas who are wearing some of the same things I wear here. Check out all of my boards to see what I’m obsessing about on a daily basis. As always, thanks for stopping by!
