A Case of the Fridays 101714: Halloween’s Almost Here! Are You Ready?

October 18, 2014 — 5 Comments

Don’t let the title of this post freak you out. I’m not ready either; however, shipping deadlines for online orders are creeping up faster than you can say, “Boo!” Here are some retailers that offer plus sizes so you can scare up the perfect costume!

Pinup Girl Clothing

Whether your Halloween style is princess or psycho-billy, Pinup Girl Clothing has you covered. I wore their Jenny dress in their exclusive Steph Buscema designed Snow White print, also offered in a skirt, for a cosplay this past summer. They have an entire fairytale collection as well as dresses and accessories  that’ll make you feel like a ’50s horror movie vixen. They best part, their clothes aren’t really costumes, so if you style them a bit differently, you have something nice to wear for a dressy occasion. Here are some of my favorite Halloween-friendly items from PUG:

Torrid

First, the bad news. Most of the costumes in Torrid’s Halloween shop are out of stock or close to it. The good news, if you’re looking for anything black or with a skull on it anytime of year, they’re the place to go!  Also, they have a collection inspired by the movie, The Book of Life, so not only will you be ready for Halloween, but you’ll be all set for Day of the Dead, too! Check out my Torrid faves, and can’t we all agree that the “LA” in #8 stands for Louisiana?

ModCloth

ModCloth can’t be beat if you want to add some retro style to your fright night. They have plenty of spooky finds in their Halloween shop, but if you’re creative, you can spin almost anything they sell into a killer costume. In fact, their blog offers some great tips on how to create your own Halloween “Non-Costume.” I just love their Lucille Ball-inspired look in the post! Also, they have creepy home decor to make your place party ready. To sort of quote The Shining…”Heeeeeere’s ModCloth!”

Those are my lucky 13 Halloween picks. Remember as the big night gets closer, it will be frighteningly difficult to get deliveries on time, so be sure to check shipping policies for wherever you order. Some places are still offering delivery by Halloween with their standard shipping rates, but not for much longer. No matter what, I hope everyone has a spook-tacular night. Trick-or-Treat!

Such a fun post! I keep forgetting about Halloween this year, haha. I don’t even know what I’m going to wear! I love that PUG dress on you, and that record dress is great on you, too!!!

Thank you, Sammi! I’m not settled on a Halloween costume myself, either. I’m going to fairy-themed party tonight, and on Halloween night, I may end up wearing my Wizard of Awesome Bernie Dexter and go as the poppy field from The Wizard of Oz…decisions, decisions. I hope you have a fun Halloween!
